The statue of the Buddha mud reached almost three meters high.
During generations it had been considered sagrada by the inhabitants of the place. One day, due to the growth of the city, they decided to move to a more appropriate site. This delicate task was entrusted to a recognized monk, who, after planning exhaustive, began his mission.
Its fortune was so bad that, when moving the statue, this slid and fell, cracking itself in several parts. sad, the monk and his team decided to spend the night meditating to see what solution found him.
The monk, instead of being hopeless, focused in finding a solution. Suddenly, noting the sculpture cracked, fell in mind that the light of his candle was reflected through the cracks of the statue. He thought they were drops of dew. He approached to the crack and found that beneath the mud had something shiny. He consulted with his colleagues and decided to do something what seemed crazy:
He began to break the mud with a hammer, discovering that, underneath, was hiding a solid gold Buddha nearly three metres high.
For centuries this beautiful treasure had been hidden.
Historians found evidence that, in the past the villagers to protect their treasure of bandits, they covered it with mud so that it seems common and ordinary.
